Durham County Carers Support provides training for Carers. 

Courses and Training

Our events and courses are great ways to gain knowledge, while meeting other Carers in a relaxed environment.

Our courses include:

  • Pilates & Yoga
  • Making Sense of Caring
  • Moving and Assisting – to help protect your back in your caring role
  • Everything in Place (with St Cuthbert’s Hospice) – discussing end of life plans
  • Positive Approach to Care – helping people living with dementia
  • Changes Programme (with Durham County Council) – for parents or Carers of young adults with special educational needs or disabilities
  • Infection Control

Being an unpaid carer for a friend or family member can place huge demands on the lives of carers.

If you are, or have recently been, an unpaid carer, Open Uniiversity Carers’ Scholarship could allow you to study an OU qualification for free. click here for more information
