Welfare Benefits Support Volunteer

Jan 8, 2026General news

As a Welfare Benefits Support Volunteer, you will play a vital role in helping unpaid Carers access the financial support they are entitled to. Working alongside our experienced team, you will support Carers to complete Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and Attendance Allowance applications, helping to make a complex and often daunting process clearer and less stressful.

Your support will help ensure forms are completed accurately, with the right information and evidence, giving Carers the best possible chance of a successful outcome. This can make a significant difference by maximising household income, reducing financial pressure, and supporting Carers to maintain their wellbeing and independence.

In return, you’ll receive a full induction, training and ongoing support from our team, building your confidence and knowledge of the welfare benefits system. This role is ideal for anyone looking to develop valuable advice and advocacy skills, gain experience for their CV, or give back to their local community. By volunteering in this role, you’ll be part of a supportive team and make a real, measurable difference to the lives of Carers.
