As a Keeping in Touch Project Volunteer, you will help ensure unpaid Carers feel supported, listened to and connected. This role involves making one-off, friendly phone calls to Carers using a set of pre-guided questions to check how they are doing, ensure they feel safe and informed, and remind them of the support available to them.
Your calls can make a real difference, particularly for Carers who may be isolated or vulnerable. By offering a listening ear and clear information, you will help identify those who may need additional support and refer them to a member of our Carer Support Team where appropriate. This proactive contact is vital in helping us reach Carers who might otherwise struggle in silence and ensures they know where and how to access the help they need.
You’ll receive full training, guidance and ongoing support, with no previous experience required. This role is ideal for someone with good listening skills, empathy and confidence speaking on the phone. Volunteering on the Keeping in Touch Project is a rewarding way to build communication skills, gain experience in a support-focused role, and make a meaningful difference to the wellbeing of Carers in your community.
