Our very own Jessica is doing the Great North Run this year to help raise money for our free Counselling Services. Jessica says “I have been working at DCCS for 6 years, this is my second time running the GNR. I’m doing it this year to do my bit in helping raise money for Carers who work so hard day in day out to support their loved ones. Whilst working here for 6 years you would think that I’d seen and herd every struggle or barrier that a Carer could face, but you’d be wrong! Carers have new challenges facing them all the time. Almost daily I hear something new that a Carer needs to overcome and often the struggle takes a toll on their mental wellbeing. With funding cuts and the cost of living crisis adding extra strain to Carers we have more carers accessing our free counselling service all the time and I wanted to keep the free counselling for Carers running.
